Maggie's Rescue is not an animal shelter. We care for animals through our amazing network of foster carers. Thanks to them, most of our rescue dogs are adopted even before we can list them on our website. That is why you may not see many dogs on our adoption page. The pets shown on this page have gone through our home-ready program and are now available for adoption.
If you would like to adopt a dog through Maggie's Rescue we encourage you to sign up to our Foster Carer's Program. By becoming a Foster Carer with us we can try to match any dogs needing rehoming to the needs of our adopters. It's a great opportunity to take your time and choose the right dog for you family.
Our Foster to Adopt program has been designed to create a nurturing and loving temporary home for animals in need until a permanent home is found. This mean some pets are going through a transitioning process that may not be ready for adoption.

Maggies Rescue is a registered animal welfare charity, a co-operative of compassionate and committed carers that support our goals of rescue and rehoming of companion animals. Maggie’s Rescue is different in that we don’t have a physical shelter. Our FOSTER TO ADOPT program has been designed to create a nurturing and loving temporary home for animals in need until a permanent home is found. All our foster carers participate in an Induction session prior to joining our program and receive on-going training on best practice care for all our rescued animals.
Maggie’s Rescue is committed to offer the best solutions for stray and abandoned animals in our community by connecting in with other rescue organisations, councils and government bodies, to develop and support programs that end the cycle of stray and abandoned animals.
We are also committed to educate our community on the benefits of desexing of their pets and provide discounted or no cost desexing when our funds permit.
But our most important goal, is to find these companion animals, permanent homes with families who will commit to loving them for their whole life, not just Christmas. All our animals are vet checked, de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed before they go to their adoptive homes.
